CHESTERTOWN — Police here on Friday morning, Aug. 1 assisted the Montgomery County Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service with execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Foxley Manor neighborhood.
Chestertown Police Chief Ron Dixon identified the target of the warrant as a 39-year-old woman whose last known address was in Clarksville.
Dixon said the woman was at the residence when the warrant was carried out at about 8 a.m.
At the same time, the woman was served a grand jury indictment.
There was never a threat to public safety, according to Dixon.
He described the occurrence as “completely without incident.”
The woman was taken into custody and transported to Montgomery County for processing.
Dixon told The Evening Enterprise that the charges are “serious,” but said he would not release additional information until the Montgomery County Police Department put out a news release.
