LANCASTER, Pa. — Washington applied the brakes to a five-game losing streak in lacrosse Wednesday night at Franklin & Marshall, 11-10, scoring the first four goals of the fourth quarter to wipe out a 9-7 deficit.
This was the Shoremen’s first win in the series since 2015.
Cam Carrigan, Connor Garrison, Luke Brennan and Cory Morgan scored in succession — all unassisted — for an 11-9 lead with 3 minutes, 46 seconds remaining.
Kai Kelly, also unassisted, pulled F&M to within a goal, 11-10, with 2:27 to play, but the home team was not able to come all the way back.
F&M’s final chance to tie came with 27 seconds remaining on a shot by James Moroney that was stopped by Will Charvala, who finished with 14 saves.
Carrigan and Garrison each had a hat trick for the 4-10 Shoremen, who picked up their second Centennial Conference win of the season.
Gabe Velasquez won 15 of 24 face-offs and led all players with seven ground balls.
Franklin & Marshall (6-9) slipped to 0-6 in conference games.
