WORTON — Ed Sears of Annapolis drove away from the second annual Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company Car Show on Sunday with the top prize as his 1935 Buick Cabriolet “Resto-Rod” earned the title of Best in Show.
All told, 78 vehicles were judged in the Aug. 4 event staged at Worton Park.
The turnout was lower than the inaugural show last year when there were 95 entries. That likely was related to the iffy forecast of possible rain, according to Trish Usilton, a member of the fire company’s board of directors who put the show together for the second year in a row.
Trish and her husband Mike own the Blue Bird Tavern, which was the lead sponsor.
Other sponsors included Clough’s Collision, Holman Building, Morgnec Auto Repair, Gillespie & Son Inc., ELB Incorporated, Fleetwood Insurance Group, David A. Bramble Inc. and D. McHenry Backhoe & Paving.
All proceeds benefited the fire company.
