CHESTERTOWN — If you’re looking to add stars and stripes and sparkle to your holiday season, the Historical Society of Kent County has just the thing — a one-of-a-kind patriotic Christmas tree that could be yours for the price of a $10 raffle ticket and just a little bit of luck.
The 6½-foot tree is festively decorated with white lights and ornaments.
Donated and decorated by George and Cari Corey, the tree will shine like a holiday beacon in the Bordley History Center window until the lucky winner takes it home.
Tickets are $10 each, or three for $25.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, Dec. 7 at noon during Chestertown’s Dickens Weekend festivities.
You do not need to be present to win, but you must pick up your tree by Christmas Eve.
Tickets can be purchased at the Bordley History Center (301 High St.) or online at kentcountyhistory.org/2024-raffle.
Proceeds benefit the HSKC and its mission to preserve, protect and share the rich history of Kent County.
The Historical Society of Kent County invites the public to visit the Bordley History Center, attend events and consider getting involved as a member or volunteer.
Membership benefits include unlimited use of the genealogy and research library (by appointment), a discount on books in the museum gift shop and invitations to members-only events. A donation of $25 is recommended for individual memberships, and $40 for families. Student memberships are always free.
