MILLINGTON — No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash Feb. 19 on Edge Road.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 2018 Dodge Durango operated by Whitney Turner, 38, Massey, experienced a mechanical failure that caused the vehicle to travel off the road and strike a guardrail.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene, according to the news release.

CHESTERTOWN — Dionte Lamar Williams, 33, Chestertown, on Feb. 21, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; driving while impaired by alcohol; failure to display two lighted front lamps when required; and failure to display and reflect red color light on rear lamp and reflectors as required.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Sgt. Scott Lockerman conducted the traffic stop at 10:42 p.m. on Washington Avenue.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, Williams displayed “indicators of impairment.”

He was charged after allegedly performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.

ROCK HALL — No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash Feb. 23 on Rock Hall Road.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 2024 Ford van operated by Robert Lowman, 60, Rock Hall, struck a deer in the roadway.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene, according to the news release.

Cpl. Aquil Freeman investigated.

CHESTERTOWN — Jeffrey Anthony Duncan II, 34, Chestertown, on Feb. 28, was charged with failure to drive on the right half of the roadway when required; driving while impaired by alcohol; driving while under the influence of alcohol; and driving while under the influence of alcohol per se.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Sgt. Scott Lockerman conducted the traffic stop at 11:55 p.m. on state Route 20 at Airy Hill Road.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, Duncan performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.

MILLINGTON — Erick Yovani Urbina Cernas, 31, Gettysburg, Pa., on March 1, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; driving while under the influence of alcohol per se; driving while impaired by alcohol; and transporting a minor while driving while impaired by alcohol.

He also was charged with second-degree assault.

He initially was held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.

Cpl. Mike Piasecki responded to the 300-block of Cypress Street for a reported assault. While Cpl. Piasecki was investigating, Cernas arrived at the scene.

Cpl. Piasecki reported that while he was speaking to Cernas, “indicators of impairment were observed,” according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Cernas allegedly performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
