KENNEDYVILLE — Two 17-year-old males, both from the Chestertown area, on March 8, were referred to the Department of Juvenile Services on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance; and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
They were released to their respective parents.
The teens were in a vehicle that was stopped on state Route 291 near state Route 298 for an alleged traffic offense.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, they were arrested following a probable cause search.

MASSEY — Sgt. Travis Manning is investigating a single-vehicle crash March 9 on Massey Road.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 2025 Toyota sport utility vehicle driven by Dale Martino of Middletown, Del., traveled off the roadway when Martino attempted to avoid an animal in the road. The vehicle subsequently struck several trees.
No injuries were reported.
The vehicle sustained “disabling damage” and was towed from the scene, according to the news release.
