CHESTERTOWN — Aurora Alaina Ramirez, 21, Kennedyville, on April 27, was charged with driving, attempting to drive while under the influence of alcohol; driving, attempting to drive while impaired by alcohol; and driving at speed exceeding the limit, 73 mph in a 50-mph zone.

She was released on personal recognizance.

Sgt. Nick Watson conducted the traffic stop at 5:49 p.m. on eastbound state Route 20 [Chestertown Road] at Old Fairlee Road. 

According to a sheriff’s office news release, during a roadside interview Ramirez displayed “indicators of impairment.”

She was charged after allegedly performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.

CHESTERTOWN — Cpl. Parker Hudson, on May 7, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Scheeler Road for an alleged traffic violation. 

A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted by Sgt. Scott Lockerman and his assigned K-9 Khari, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of suspected narcotics, according to a sheriff’s office news release. 

During a subsequent search, a suspected controlled dangerous substance and CDS paraphernalia were located, according to the news release.

Charges are pending.

MILLINGTON — Carbin Hidel Carreto Miranda, 36, Chestertown, on May 18, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; driving while impaired by alcohol; driver consuming alcohol while in a vehicle on the road; and attempting to drive while so far impaired by alcohol that he cannot drive safely.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, Miranda refused a chemical test.

He was released after being issued the traffic citations.

DFC Shane Steppe observed a vehicle on the shoulder of Millington Road, in the area of Crumpton Road, with its emergency flashers activated. “Upon checking on the status of the driver [subsequently identified as Miranda], signs of impairment were observed,” a sheriff’s office news release states.

Miranda was charged after he allegedly performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
