CHESTERTOWN — Thomas Edward Rapier, 61, Los Angeles, Calif., on July 27, was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol; and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
He also was charged with exceeding the maximum posted speed limit, 69 mph in a posted 50-mph zone; and failure to display license to uniformed police on demand.
Rapier was released to a sober driver after being issued the traffic citations, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Cpl. Scott Lockerman conducted the traffic stop at 8:57 p.m. on eastbound state Route 20 at Bakers Lane.
