CHESTERTOWN — Lawrence William Simns, Jr., 66, and Tiffany Marie Scarpulla, 42, both of Rock Hall, on Aug. 12, were charged with drug-related offenses including possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a large amount; possession of a narcotic (fentanyl/heroin) with intent to distribute; and possession of paraphernalia.
They initially were held in the Kent County Detention Center without bond.
Simns and Scarpulla were occupants of a vehicle that was stopped on Ricauds Branch Road for an alleged traffic violation.
Cpl. Michael Piasecki and K-9 Draco scanned the vehicle. According to a sheriff’s office news release, the K-9 alerted to the odor of suspected drugs. Subsequently, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and suspected drugs were seized.
Cpl. Dave Nolan made the initial traffic stop.

CHESTERTOWN — Santos Dionicio Mendez Romero, 25, Falls Church, Va., on Aug. 3, was issued a must-appear traffic citation for driving without required license and authorization.
PFC Brandon McGinnis conducted the traffic stop at 5:17 p.m. on Maple Avenue.

CHESTERTOWN — Gabriel Navarro Robinson, 33, Chestertown, on Aug. 5, was issued a must-appear traffic citation for driving without required license and authorization.
PFC Eric Nunez conducted the traffic stop at 7:33 p.m. in the 800-block of High Street.

CHESTERTOWN — Vontaye Lamonte Gilbert, 44, Chestertown, on Aug. 6, was served a district court summons for driving without required license and authorization; failure to return to and remain at the scene of an accident involving an attended vehicle; failure of a driver in an accident to provide required identification and license; failure of a driver in an accident to report to the nearest police; and failure of a driver involved in an accident to give insurance policy information.
The charges stem from a hit-and-run accident July 11 in the 400-block of Cross Street.

CHESTERTOWN — Christina Janette Holland, 20, Millington, on Aug. 6, was issued must-appear traffic citations for exceeding the maximum posted speed limit, 36 mph in a posted 25-mph zone; failure to display license to uniformed police on demand; and driving without required license and authorization.
PFC Eric Nunez conducted the traffic stop at 7:09 p.m. in the 700-block of High Street.

CHESTERTOWN — Jeanne Marie Apple, 40, Chestertown, on Aug. 11, was issued must-appear traffic citations for displaying expired registration plate; driving on a suspended license; driving without required license and authorization; knowingly driving an uninsured vehicle; and driving without current registration plates and validation tabs.
PFC Eric Nunez conducted the traffic stop at 8:36 p.m. on Maple Avenue at North Water Street.

CHESTERTOWN — Richard Lamont Bowser Jr., 24, Easton, on Aug. 12, was issued must-appear traffic citations for driving without required license and authorization; and driving on suspended license and privilege.
