GALENA — A suspected controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis and suspected CDS paraphernalia were seized during a traffic stop Feb. 25 on North Main Street.

The suspected CDS was sent to the Maryland State Police crime lab for analysis. Charges are pending results.

Cpl. Aquil Freeman conducted the traffic stop.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, the driver, who was not identified, consented to a search of their vehicle.

CHESTERTOWN — Burton Randall Brown Jr., 34, Chestertown, on March 7, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis (to wit: cocaine) and possession of CDS paraphernalia following a traffic stop.

Brown also was charged with driving without required license and authorization.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Cpl. Parker Hudson conducted the traffic stop at 3:29 p.m. on Spring Avenue.

Sgt. Scott Lockerman and K-9 Khari assisted.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, K-9 Khari alerted to the odor of suspected CDS, which provided probable cause to search the vehicle.
