GALENA — Vontaye Lamonte Gilbert, 45, Chestertown, on May 14, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis; and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Gilbert initially was stopped for speeding; he was allegedly driving 102 mph in a posted 55-mph zone.

Following a roadside interview, Chestertown Police Department Cpl. James Walker and K-9 “Oxan” scanned the vehicle. According to a sheriff’s office news release, “Oxan” alerted to the odor of suspected drugs, which allowed for a probable cause search.

Sgt. Travis Manning conducted the traffic stop on U.S. Route 301.

CHESTERTOWN — Sharaya Monet Wilson, 32, Worton, on May 17, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis; and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

She was released on personal recognizance.

Cpl. Parker Hudson conducted the traffic stop on High Street.

Sgt. Scott Lockerman and K-9 “Khari” scanned the vehicle, with “Khari” giving a positive alert to the odor of suspected drugs, according to a sheriff’s office news release. 

Suspected cocaine was seized during a probable cause search.
