CHESTERTOWN — Volunteer firefighters here on Tuesday, May 26 were dispatched at about 11:10 a.m. for a vehicle fire in the Washington Square parking lot.
According to a Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company social media post, Rescue Engine 6 arrived to find fire showing from the engine compartment of a single-cab pickup truck.
Crews deployed the front bumper line and quickly extinguished the fire.
After the fire was brought under control, firefighters used absorbent pads to help contain and soak up leaking vehicle fluids, helping to prevent hazardous runoff from entering nearby storm drains.
Chestertown Police Department and Chestertown VFC Fire Police assisted on the scene.
