CHESTERTOWN — Hanscom Federal Credit Union has appointed Victoria Martin as assistant vice president and relationship banking advisor for the Maryland region, which includes a branch in Chestertown.
This newly created role “underscores the credit union’s focus on providing a high touch, advisory experience for relationship banking members and their families,” according to the April 6 news release that announced Martin’s appointment.
Martin has more than a decade of experience in financial services, with a strong background in banking, credit and investment strategies.
She holds Investment Series 7, 63 and 66 licenses.
In her new role, Martin will focus on building and managing relationships with highly engaged members, providing tailored banking and lending solutions, and connecting clients with investment services through close collaboration with financial advisors, according to the news release.
She will work alongside loan officers, branch managers and Hanscom Federal Credit Union financial teams.
“Victoria’s depth of experience and her ability to translate complex financial strategies into meaningful guidance make her a natural fit for this role. As we continue to enhance services for high‑balance, highly engaged members, her personalized approach will be instrumental in strengthening the relationships at the heart of our mission,” Chris Santillo, senior vice president of relationship banking at Hanscom Federal Credit Union, said in the news release.
Randy Robey, regional president of Peoples Powered by Hanscom Federal Credit Union, said the newly created position reflects HFCU’s continued investment in the Maryland market, as well as its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its members.
“Victoria’s approachable style and dedication to building lasting connections will have an immediate impact on both our team and the members we serve,” Robey said.
According to the news release, Martin is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve long-term financial success through “practical, personalized solutions.” She is committed to building strong relationships and deepening connections within the Maryland community.

As of Jan. 5, 2026, The Peoples Bank now operates as Peoples Powered by Hanscom Federal Credit Union.
On that date, Hanscom Federal Credit Union reported completion of its previously announced purchase and assumption transaction involving the majority of assets and liabilities of The Peoples Bank, based in Chestertown, following receipt of all required regulatory and shareholder approvals.
The transaction, originally publicized in December 2024 and unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both organizations, marks Hanscom’s official entry into Maryland and Washington, D.C.
With consummation of the transaction, Hanscom Federal Credit Union, founded in 1953, now has about $2.1 billion in total assets, serves more than 115,000 members and operates 23 branches across Massachusetts, Maryland and Virginia, according to a news release.
As part of the transaction, Fleetwood Insurance Group, the insurance agency subsidiary of The Peoples Bank, joined Hanscom Federal Credit Union.
