CHESTERTOWN — Washington senior attacker Piper Evans is the Centennial Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for women’s lacrosse for the second week in a row.
Evans has earned the weekly honor three times this season, and four times overall.
She grew up near Chestertown and is a graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School, where she was a member of the 2021 Class 2A state championship team.
Evans totaled 10 goals and 11 points in a 2-0 week — six goals including the game-winner and an assist to lead all players in a 15-13 victory over state rival St. Mary’s on Tuesday, March 17 and four goals, one in each quarter, in the 13-9 victory against Dickinson on Saturday in the conference opener. Both games were played on the turf of Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium, Chestertown.
Evans has appeared in eight games, all starts, for the 6-2 Shore ladies. She leads them in scoring with 29 goals and is second with 39 points.
Overall, Evans has appeared in 42 games with 25 starts for Washington. Her line includes 91 goals, 24 assists and 115 points.
Evans transferred from Salisbury University after her freshman year.
