CHESTERTOWN — Winners of the Chestertown Rotary Club’s 2025 Soup & Sip competition are Watershed Alley of Chestertown for best Maryland crab soup and The Flying Decoy of Rock Hall for best cream of crab soup.
Thomas Kaylor accepted on behalf of Watershed Alley and Chris Golder accepted on behalf of The Flying Decoy.
Awards were presented by committee members Jamie Williams and Beverly Birkmire.
This was the eighth edition of the event, which was held Oct. 25 at Chester River Yacht & Country Club, near Chestertown.
The winners received a plaque to display in their restaurant.
Ten local restaurants participated: The Kitchen at the Imperial, Luisa’s Cucina Italiana, Osprey Point, Molly’s Restaurant, Harbor Shack, Watershed Alley, Deep Blue at Kitty Knight, The Flying Decoy, The Fish Whistle and Chester River Yacht & Country Club.

Two large baskets filled with wine and wine- and soup-related items — all donated by Chestertown Rotary Club members — were raffled.
Proceeds benefit Kent County Public Schools’ visual arts programs.
