WORTON — In a partnership with Kent County High School, local 4-H’ers collect teddy bears and other stuffed animals tossed on to the court Thursday night, Dec. 11 at halftime of the varsity boys basketball game.
All the stuffed animals will be donated to the Kent County 4-H Holiday Toy Drive.

Enough stuffed animals to fill five large garbage bags were collected.
About a dozen 4-H’ers, and their friends, participated.
Free admission was offered to spectators who brought a teddy bear or stuffed animal.
The event was rescheduled from Dec. 5, which was supposed to be the season opener for the Trojans but was postponed due to inclement weather.
KCHS Athletic Director Kolyn Kirby was credited with getting the event back on the calendar.
Shout-outs also go to Dan Divilio, the public relations and communications specialist for Kent County Public Schools who made flyers to promote the rescheduled event, and the Kent County High School administration team.
KCHS hosted neighbor Queen Anne’s County High School in a rare triple-header of junior varsity boys, varsity girls and varsity boys games. The visiting Lions won all three games.
