Peace out

CHESTERTOWN — We couldn’t resist this Buddha frog embracing its inner Santa Claus on Friday, Dec. 5 as just enough snow fell to make the quickly approaching holiday season seem more real.

As a precaution, public schools in Kent County dismissed early.

But, Chestertown’s Dickens of a Christmas went on as scheduled and will continue tomorrow. For more, see www.DickensChestertown.org.

Also on Saturday, Dec. 6, Rock Hall will hold its annual lighted boat parade to escort Santa to town at about 6 p.m. while Galena will hold Winter Fest from 5 to 8 p.m. with Santa and the Grinch arriving by firetruck to help with the tree lighting at town hall.

For those of you who still have holiday shopping to do, just a gentle reminder that Hanukkah begins at sundown on Dec. 14 and concludes at nightfall on Dec. 22 and Christmas is less than three weeks from now.
