At about 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 15, troopers from the state police barrack in Centreville responded to the area of Route 213 at Route 544 for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

According to the preliminary investigation, for unknown reasons, the pedestrian — subsequently identified as Collins — traveled across the roadway and was struck by a passenger vehicle.
