CHESTERTOWN — Washington junior Nathan Rawa of Lansdale, Pennsylvania earns All-Centennial Conference honorable mention in swimming for the second year in a row based on his performance at the conference championships Feb. 19-22 held at Franklin & Marshall College.
In both individual events and relays, gold medalists at the conference championships earn first-team honors and silver medalists earn second-team honors.
As a bronze medalist in the 50-yard freestyle, Rawa earned All-Centennial honorable mention.
Prior to the 2022-23 academic year, only gold and silver medalists garnered All-Centennial recognition.
Rawa placed third in the 50 free in a school record of 20.44, sharing the bronze medal with Johns Hopkins freshman Michael Ivanov.
Rawa lowered his own school record of 20.59 that he had set in the prelims.
Rawa entered the championships as the program’s record holder at 20.80.
He re-established another of his own school records in the 100 butterfly, 49.08, and set a third record of 45.68 in the 100 freestyle as the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay.
Last year, Rawa was the bronze medalist [and All-Centennial honorable mention] in the 100 backstroke.
Sophomore Ethan Cronin of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania represents Washington on the conference’s All-Sportsmanship Team.
Nominations are submitted by the head coaches.
Cronin competed in the 200-, 500- and 1650-yard freestyle at the conference championships.
