BETTERTON — Sgt. Phil Trinks is investigating a single-vehicle crash March 11 on Howell Point Road. According to a sheriff’s office news release, a 64-year-old Betterton man was operating a Dodge truck that left the road and subsequently struck a parked vehicle and then a utility pole. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

CHESTERTOWN — Leonardo Domicillo Leon-Dominguez, 38, Chestertown, on March 16, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol; driving while impaired by alcohol; consuming an alcoholic beverage in the passenger area of a vehicle on the roadway; driving without required license and authorization; and standing, parking on roadway when prohibited.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Deputy Shane Steppe responded to Mary Morris Road at Flatland Road at 2:43 a.m. for a possible disabled vehicle. According to a sheriff’s office news release, Deputy Steppe observed “signs of impairment” during his interaction with Leon-Dominguez.

CHESTERTOWN — Sobaye Adaro Scott Jr., 30, Worton, on March 22, was charged with driving, attempting to drive while under the influence of alcohol; driving, attempting to drive while under the influence of alcohol per se; driving, attempting to drive while impaired by alcohol; and driving, attempting to drive while so far impaired that he cannot drive safely.

Scott also was charged with following too closely; and operating a vehicle with inadequate rear red light reflector.

He was released to a sober individual.

Sgt. Scott Lockerman conducted the traffic stop at 2:01 a.m. on state Route 291 at Brickyard Road.  He reported observing “signs of impairment” during a roadside interview with Scott.
