CHESTERTOWN — The public is invited to “Sail into Downrigging” on Wednesday, Oct. 29 when Chris Cerino, vice president of the Sultana Education Foundation and a popular Washington College Academy of Lifelong Learning instructor, will dive into the rich history of Chestertown’s celebration of tall ships, maritime heritage and community spirit.
According to a news release, Cerino will speak about “all things related to Downrigging Weekend,” including a brief history of the festival, a rundown of the ships participating in this year’s event and other activities taking place in Chestertown during the three-day weekend.
The WC-ALL Learn @ Lunch event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in a venue that has one of the best views on the college campus — the skybox of Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.
The cost is $25 for WC-ALL members and Washington College faculty, staff and students, and $30 for the general public.
Lunch will be served.
