CHESTERTOWN — Jessica Don Church, 43, Chestertown, on Dec. 24, was charged with knowingly driving an uninsured vehicle.

PFC Travis Burke conducted the traffic stop at 12:45 p.m. on Spring Avenue.

CHESTERTOWN — Oliver Jourdan Wheatman, 31, Centreville, on Dec. 27, was charged with driving, attempting to drive while under the influence of alcohol; driving, attempting to drive while impaired by alcohol; driving, attempting to drive while impaired by a controlled dangerous substance; driving, attempting to drive while so far impaired that he cannot drive safely; and negligent driving. 

He was released on personal recognizance.

Officer Karyn Harris conducted the traffic stop at 9:28 p.m. in the 100-block of Maple Avenue.

CHESTERTOWN — Lamont Octavius Demby Sr., 53, Chestertown, on Jan. 2, was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle; failure to display registration card upon demand of a police officer; displaying expired registration plate; driving a vehicle without current registration plates and validation tabs; unauthorized display and use of a registration plate; and knowingly driving an uninsured vehicle.

PFC Travis Burke conducted the traffic stop at 11:42 a.m. in the 100-block of Philosophers Terrace.

 

Kent County Sheriff

CHESTERTOWN — Eugenio Altamirano Lopez, 30, Chestertown, on Jan. 1, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol; driving under the influence of alcohol per se; driving while impaired by alcohol; exceeding posted maximum speed, 68 mph in a posted 50-mph zone; failure to display license to uniformed police on demand; driving without required license and authorization; negligent driving; and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway when required.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Lopez was charged after he allegedly performed poorly on roadside standardized field sobriety tests, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Cpl. Parker Hudson conducted the traffic stop at 3:23 a.m. on Chestertown Road (state Route 20). east of Ricauds Branch Road.

ROCK HALL — Montrail Cortez Montgomery, 50, Rock Hall, on Jan. 1, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that is not cannabis [to wit: cocaine]; and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

He was released on personal recognizance.

Cpl. Parker Hudson conducted the traffic stop on Judefind Avenue.

According to a sheriff’s office news release, Sgt. Scott Lockerman and K-9 Khari scanned the vehicle; the K-9 gave a positive alert to the odor of suspected CDS.

Montgomery was charged following a probable cause search of the vehicle.
